Each person uses different terms to describe types of services. For example, retrieving equipment from a site due to a cancellation may be called a collection, uplift, or removal. It’s important to standardize your terminology across Service Manager and reports to prevent any misunderstandings. Hence, you can update the descriptions of different service types in Service Manager accordingly.
To amend the types, navigate to the Event Types tab under the Types section, located in the Administration menu on the main toolbar.

Next, use the search filters on the left to locate the type you want to amend, and then click the Edit button.

You can utilize the fields to modify the descriptions:
- Custom Description – This is how it will be displayed within the Service Manager app.
- Receipt Description – This is how it will appear on customers’ service receipts.
Click the Save button.
