Why am I getting an exception back when I optimise a route?

When optimizing a route, if a job cannot be completed within the given constraints, it will be listed as an exception. Below, you will find explanations for the various possible exceptions and their causes.

Driver’s working hours exceeded

If a driver is expected to work 8 hours per day, completing all jobs within that limit in the optimized route may not be possible. In such cases, some jobs will be flagged as exceptions. Typically, the most costly jobs, which are often far away or have the longest service duration, will be the ones chosen as exceptions.

Unable to complete all jobs in their access times

If all of the jobs on a route have access times entered, it may not be possible to complete all of the jobs within their available time windows on the same route. In such cases, some jobs will be flagged as exceptions. Typically, the most costly jobs, which are often far away or have the longest service duration, will be the ones chosen as exceptions.
